To get the maximum benefit of your classical acoustic guitar you should really know the anatomy of your weapon. This knowledge will drive a positive result toward your learning process.

  • Headstock
    • It is the top wooden part of your guitar where you usually put something to hang it somewhere. You may see the brand of your classical acoustic guitar on it. A good quality of classical acoustic guitar can be seen from the headstock.
  • Tuning
    • Tuning is the little metal thing which you can used to adjust the toe of your classical acoustic guitar strings. You will have to set the tuning over and over again until you find the desired tone of yours.
  • Machine Head
    • Tuning control the machine head. It is the classical acoustic guitar part where the strings are attached to. When you turn the tuning, the machine head will follow the tuning and adjust the string tone.
  • String
    • String is the part of your classical acoustic guitar which produces the sound. There are six strings in the classical acoustic guitar. The 6th string is E, the 5th string is A, the 4th string is D, the 3rd string is G, the 2nd string is B, the 1st string is E. The top string is the 6 string.
  • Fret
    • Fret is the column along the guitar neck where you can choose different tones by pressing the fret board.  Fret show the position. If you were asked to play a 3rd position, than you should play it in the 3rd fret.
  • Neck
    • Neck is the long part of the guitar which holds the fret. If you can play a note easily, you may conclude that the neck is made of a high quality wood which specially designed for classical acoustic guitar.
  • Fret board
    • Fret board is the part where you should press it to produce certain note.
  • Soundboard
    • Soundboard is the board which used to produce the classical acoustic guitar sound.
  • Sound hole
    • Sound hole is the hole on the middle of the sound board which used as the entrance of the classical acoustic guitar sound.
  • Bridge
    • The Bridge is the place where you connect the classical acoustic guitar string so you can tune them from the tuning.
